More Hats!

Since my last post, we have 6 more hats in the gift bag, and more on the way! Laura passed along this great pattern:

It works up very quickly, and has a great texture to it. Here's one in turquoise:

Baby Hats

Thank you to everyone who has helped with this baby hat project! So far, just here in Florida, we have 26 hats to be donated to the hospital maternity ward, and we're still making more!

A couple of people I know don't crochet, but have offered to buy yarn for the project, which is greatly appreciated. If anyone else would like to donate yarn, please let me know.

Meanwhile, look at what we've got so far!

(That bag is 16x4x12 and about 2/3 full!)

In Memory of Sophie Sheppard

My friend Laura and her husband Rob recently held a memorial service for their beloved daughter, Sophie. She spent only two days here on earth before going home to heaven.

Laura has decided to begin crocheting newborn and preemie hats to donate to the hospital where Sophie stayed. She said they were simply wonderful there, and she wants to help spread Sophie's love to other babies in some small way.

She asked me to join her on this project, and I have happily agreed. She found this pattern, and it looks like an easy project:

I will be donating whatever caps I make to the hospital where my daughters were born. I also agreed to pass the idea on to everyone I knew. I know that not everyone crochets, and not everyone has extra time, but feel free to forward this to anyone who you think might want to participate.
